Description: A posed group of the battalion. One man has a small child on his knee, to whom he is chanting nursery rhymes. The men form up for an issue of beer. Men of 'C' Company are issued with hot food from carriers and eat it on trestle tables in the open. A group with towels go off to bathe. A medical orderly bandages the head of one soldier, injured while playing football, while an American doctor attached to the battalion looks on. Men outdoors play cards and drink. Private John Cunningham VC of the regiment plays with some small children and a dog.
